The Most Often Type of Essay

An essay is basically written in a long form that presents the author’s viewpoint. However the meaning of an essay is often vague and may differ from that of a newspaper or book. Essays are usually written on topics of academic interest. In recent times, the essay has been more flexible to other written works. It is now among the most popular forms of literature. Essays aren’t always academic in nature, however, they can be founded on technical or scientific research, politics, or even fiction.

In expository writing, the writer will present a specific issue, idea or thesis in support of a particular view. The essay also explains the process by which the writer came to this conclusion, what research shows and the data or facts that support the thesis. In contrast to narrative essays, where the writer is simply trying to tell an interesting story, expository essays are usually analytical in nature. Some examples of expository essays include thesis statements, which are assertions about a specific research. Thesis statements usually go into much greater detail than a simple statement such as “The earth revolves around the sun.”

Of course, there are many more varieties of essay. They include expository, narrative and descriptive essays and narrative, narrative, polemic analytic, narrative and ironic essays. Most academic writers don’t follow a specific style. In actual fact the format of an essay can vary greatly based on the writer’s purpose for creating the essay. For instance when the essay is required to be written to earn college credit, the writer may wish to include all or some of the four major types of essays mentioned above. However, most writers for both admissions and credit-based essays tend to adhere to the standard style of writing an essay.

This is usually used to provide a backstory to the main subject or to prove that the argument is more persuasive than the argument made by the other side. This is usually used to prove that one side is right and the opposite is wrong.
